Hello,

I was wondering if there's a way to further customize the email that is sent out to survey participants that choose to pause their survey (Text Elements and Labels>Delay interview: Mail)? Right now the title is the same as the text in the email itself (very long and looks like spam). I've tried to use HTML code but it just shows up as plain text in the email.

There is also a second paragraph of text in the email stating the email address associated with my SoSci account which is not customizable at all. I would much rather have this email be changed to the email I'm using specifically for the survey. Since the survey link will be posted on the internet, there is a risk it will reach malicious people who will send spam to the email and I'd rather not my university email be boggled down with it if it can be avoided. Not to mention, it's nice just to have everything associated with the survey on a separate email account for the sake of organization.

I've tried to find an answer to this in the manual, but I couldn't find anything (if I missed it, please link it). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please try putting a single line of text into the text element. The first line should be split from the rest and be used as subject.

Yes, the email is currently intended to be sent as plain text. The request to use HTML mails has not been articulated so far.

There is also a second paragraph of text in the email stating the email address associated with my SoSci account which is not customizable at all.

This is intended in order to guarantee that respondents have a valid contact option. Unfortunately, some users would not like to provide a contact option, and then all the requests go to SoSci Survey (who, of course, cannot give the respondents usefule answers).

is a risk it will reach malicious people who will send spam to the email

Of course, you can create a second account on www.soscisurvey.de with the project's email address and make this account the primary mailing account (in the SoSci project settings).

Actually, there are very few questions about the pause-feature, therefore, the manual is quite short. But regarding the primary mail address, please see Shared Access to Projects and Send Email to a Personal Contact

Thank you so much for your quick answer! Following your advice, I managed to fix the title, and I made a second account with the project email and my own name (I hope that's alright). However, I can't get the "sender for automated mails" to change. I can choose the SoSci email or the "email as set in user account", but no matter which I choose it's still my university email that shows up in the actual email. I've tried to make the second account the project manager and given it all authorisation rights, but nothing changes, no matter which account I'm logged into.

There are also no choices in the drop-down menu for "primary contact" (perhaps this is the setting you're referring to?).

The survey is only in pre-test so far, if that has anything to do with it.

You'll have to request the email feature for the new account.

Alright, I think I've found the right page. Is it possible to enable mailing on my primary account (which is connected to my university email address) and then change the email for my primary account to the project email (gmail address) after mailing has been activated?

Yes, that is possible. The university address is only required temporarily to confirm the account's validity.

Great, thank you so much for all your help!
