Usually, the CO<sub>2</sub> shall work fine (at least it worked in your question :)

However, I guess that you created a new text - and selected Formatting: "Simple Text". This will display all HTML entities "as they are". Solution: Use the formatting "HTML code" instead. You may have to ad some <p> tags for paragraphs then.
