Is it possible to have a separate questionnaire for "special events"?

I was wondering if there's the possibility to have a regular questionnaire and the option to guide participants to a "special questionnaire" (a short version focussing on a stressful event, which they should be able to report, aside the main questionnaire which they answer on a regular basis).

I thought of making a second questionnaire with a separate link, but maybe there's a smoother solution?

There are several options to realize that. How would the respondents come to the short version? Would that be a link or selection in the long version, or would they have a QR code somewhere, independenty from the long version, or some way else?

If the short version's questions are part of the long version as well, a second questionnaire within the same survey project would be the most efficient solution. Just be aware that changes to a question will always affect both questionnaires. If you need to use different versions of a question, make sure to create a copy of the question in the List of Questions to edit.

Unter Compose Questionnaire -> Manage Questionnaires you will find a separate link (incl. QR code) for the second questionnaire. And in the dataset, the variable QUSTNNR will tell you which version was answered.

A follow-up question: will this "extra-questionnaire" work only one time? The goal is that participants can report various different events during a timeframe of a few months and each will be documented as a separate questionnaire for that person.

By default, each person can complete each questionnaire as often as they like. You would need special measures (for example individuel participations codes in the URL or cookies) to alter that behavior.

So, the challenge in your case is to find out which person is doing the questionnaire while using a public URL. One option would be to ask them.
