Changing Response Code

I am using a questionnaire (BDI_2), which has the values 0 to 4. In Sosci Survey, the response codes are only starting at 1, so when I download the data, every answer has to be manually changed. is there a faster/better way to do this or change the response code for this questionnaire to 0?

It depends on what you're about to do with the data.

If you compute scale indices, for example, the most efficient way is to substract 1 (for mean indices) or the number of items (for summary indices) from the index.

There's also an element "recode answers" in SoSci Survey that would allow you to do the recoding immediately in SoSci Survey. This is, however, much less efficient than transforming the results properly.
