Dear SoScie-Team,

about a year ago I archived a survey as an XML file and have now uploaded it again to take a screenshot and to create a survey based on it soon.
In the project that has now been created, however, the scales (vertical "temperature" scales) including their sliders are scaled to the maximum available width (in the respective window), regardless of the size in pixels previously set under "Frage bearbeiten, Schieberegler" (which leads to pages that are far too high and inevitably have to be scrolled).
I assume this is a bug in a new SoScie version. Or how can I prevent sliders and their scales from being expanded to the maximum available width in the current SoScie version?

Best regards

We have well reworked the slider feature in the recent release. As your questions have been newly imported, SoSci Survey uses the new presentation rules for them.

After using the "save" button on the existing question, SoSci Survey will know the proper visual metrics. Then, it will scale the background image to the size that you specify in the question. Please give it a try.

I have saved the question before and yeah, I tried, no, I did it again, but that does not change anything. The problem/bug remains:
Sliders are scaled to the maximum available width, regardless of the size in pixels set under "Frage bearbeiten, Schieberegler"!

Hmm. Would you allow me to create an administrator login for your project and take a look into the question? If yes, please tell the project's name and the question ID.

Thank you, of course you may have a look at it. The project's name ist "markenSprech3" and the problem affects all main questions, e.g. "MP1" or "MP38". Within the questions' "Vorschau" the scales/sliders have the correct size, but integrated in the questionary's pages they become expanded to the maximum possible width, see page 6 or 8--43 or the especially built page 46.

Thank you. I was able to track the issue down to the setting that the labels (which you do not use) shall be positioned left and right of the slider. This in combination with the vertical scale triggered the display bug you described.

I have updated www.soscisurvey.de to fix the bug. Thanks for the hint!

You're welcome. And thank you again for taking care of this so quickly!

But the problem remains (until now). Vertical sliders (without labels) still are scaled up to the maximum available width.

Hmm, that's strange. When I open the question MP01 in your survey project in Firefox, the preview at the bottom of the form shows the scale graphic in the proper size. What do you see when you open the question?

Yes, I see the same as you---all of the time, but that exactly is what's puzzling me:

Within the questions' preview the scales/sliders have the proper size,
...but then, if they are integrated in the questionary's pages (via %input:questID%, as you suggest here: https://www.soscisurvey.de/help/doku.php/de:create:inputs-single) they now, in the new SoSci version, get scaled up to the maximum available width (and in a previous SoScie version they had the same size as in the preview... and I don't find methods to restore that state until now using the new version).

Please, have a look at page 46 of "markenSprech3" which I have especially built for you, in order to clearly demonstrate the problem.
(The pages 8 to 43 are those, where the scales in previous versions were the size that is showed in the preview.)

Thank you again!

Ah, good, we're closing in :) I have missed that you're using the sliders via placeholder, but have fixed the issue for these as well, now. Give it a try, please.

Yeah, that's it!
Thank you!
