Dear SoSci-Team,

in my SoSci survey, which is part of my dissertation, I would like to ask test subjects, whether they have experienced certain traumatic events. In one question, they are asked to indicate, which of the traumatic experiences given was the worst for them. To answer this, the number of the corresponding experience should be inserted in a two-digit text field in which nothing else should be inserted as this number. The pre-text: "If you answered several times 'YES', please insert the number of the worst traumatic event in the following text field".

How could it be possible to create such a text field?

As this questionnaire is an important part of my dissertatíon, I would really be very grateful for your help!

Thank you very much and best X-mas greetings!

Well, the obvious solution would be to use an open-ended text input. You can configure it only to accept numbers, if you like: Restrictions for the Entered Text

However, I would recommend to step a step away from the print questionnaire. You might, for example, add the open-ended input to the "yes" option. Or you may allow to offer selecting the appropriate event: Use Selected Items in Another Question
