Hi, I'm testing the platform to use it to code a project, but I'm running into a few issues:

  • Is it possible to customize the values associated to each label in a variable? For example, we want 'No' to be 0, but the platform seems to automatically set the first answer to 1.

-The other thing is that I can't seem to download the data correctly into SPSS. We have 2 cases in the database (I can see them on the platform), but when I download the syntax file and run the command, they do not appear in the Data View. (We're using the test mode, maybe this is affecting it?). In your experience, does this run smoothly?

Thanks!

No, SoSci Survey explicitly uses pre-defined encodings, because this prevents a lot of trouble.

If you need a different coding for whatever reason, you can simply recorde the values using a bit PHP code (value(), put(), and an internal variable).

I can't seem to download the data correctly into SPSS. We have 2 cases in the database (I can see them on the platform), but when I download the syntax file and run the command, they do not appear in the Data View.

Probably you just have to set the appropriate criteria for valid data: Problem Solutions for Data Retrieval.
