Does not show 'back' button

Hi, I have an issue - the survey tool does not show 'back' button between pages, even though it is enabled under 'settings', nor does it show when added manually as option('backbutton', true);
I would like to allow my respondents to navigate between sections and change their answers if necessary.
Any idea why?

The back button can only display if you start testing on an earlier page and click "next", so there's a "previous page" in the current interview.

There are also some functions like multiLevelDown() that may prevent the back button.
