On the dedicated Uni Konstanz server (https://ling-survey.uni-konstanz.de/), we are planning to run a large multi-country survey project with 40 cities, using a single SoSci Survey project with one composed questionnaire per city. In total, the project spans over 30 languages.

Many cities require respondents to be able to choose between 2–3 languages (for example, French and Dutch for Belgium, or Hindi and English for India). I would like to offer a language switcher in the footer of the survey so respondents can toggle languages but only showing the languages relevant to that specific city's questionnaire.

The problem I am running into is that the Questionnaire Language Selection (under Language Versions) appears to be a project-wide setting. I cannot configure it differently per composed questionnaire, which means I cannot restrict the footer switcher to only the relevant 2–3 languages for each city, it would either show all 30+ languages to everyone, or nothing at all.

Is there a built-in way to configure the language footer on a per-composed-questionnaire basis? If not, what would you recommend as the cleanest workaround for this setup?

Thank you very much for your help!
