am currently preparing my master’s thesis project using SoSci Survey and would like to confirm that my project is correctly configured for real data collection.

Previously, my project was set up as a test project. I have now changed the project settings to non-commercial academic research. However, I would like to ensure that the survey is fully activated and that responses collected via the distribution link will be stored as valid data.

Plus I noticed that I am currently logged in via the German account rather than through my Austrian university account for University of Vienna. Is there any difference in the execution ? Is it necessary to store the survey via Usiversitys Log In Access ? As this way I have a deadline I can store the data.

Could you please confirm whether my project - which is currently online - is properly configured for real data collection and can be used the same way as from via Uni Access or advise if any additional steps are required ? Could the project be also copied to the austrian webpage ? I used though my uni email address for german website version .

thanks a lot !

would like to confirm that my project is correctly configured for real data collection.

Please go to the project settings and check what "Project background" is configured. Unless it's a "test project", you're fine.

Then, go the the "Publish Survey" tab, and set the proper survey administration period.

Last, do a Technical Test to confirm that all data is stored in the dataset as you expect them.

Plus I noticed that I am currently logged in via the German account rather than through my Austrian university account for University of Vienna.

You can move the survey project to the university server, using this procedure: Copying a Survey. Using a local university server is especially important, if you're processing personal data under the GDPR.

Dear Dominik, I am using in the study 3 languages and  different stimuli. Can I still copy it ? Also the survey is running outside the university server. Please advise how and if I could copy it still. Thanks a lot !!

Copying a survey will also copy translations, however you may have to upload the stimuli, again, to the new survey project.

> the survey is running outside the university server

That's not necessarily a problem. However, if you want (?) to use the university server, you'll have to copy the survey project, there. The manual is valid for this case, as well.

thanks a lot for your help ! It worked out now I was able to copy it - but the look is completely different as it was in the original server, although everything is the same setting .. I can not send it out this way, the formatting setting are not visible and it looks very chaotic with the answer selections etc. I am really confused now why.. :(

One possible explanation is that different servers may use different default layout.

Is there already a difference in the output in the questions' preview (in the lower part of the question editing) or does the difference only appear in the questionnaire?
