Hi,

I am working on a survey project where sampling will be conducted in more than one language, thus I have to create the translated versions as well. These, however, do not contain the same sentences due to the non-correspondences between the two languages and the design choices.
I have provided an image below:

In the user manual I saw that options can be hidden in the translated version of a survey, but can the opposite be done i.e. adding more options to the translation?

Also, I would need to create a split survey in one language as the sampling material is too large to be included in one survey. One group of respondents would be filling out one part, and the others would do the same with the other. The split questionnaires are comprised of different questions, so simply adding a translated version, albeit in the same language, does not seem convenient if the number of answer options cannot be altered between each question. Is there a solution to the problem of split surveys? The heading I found in the user manual seems to be tackling another problem.

Thank you in advance for your help!

You will have to add a hidden version in the original language, such as

~ Saying about eggs

And then the correct translation

Das ist nicht das gelbe vom Ei

The (non-presentable) text in the base language is also important for the value labels in the dataset.
