Participant ID variable missing from some of the questionnaires

Hello,

I've been running my project for over a year and recently noticed that some of the individual questionnaires are missing the page of the questionnaire where the respondent enters their participant ID number and the date. The first page of the questionnaire (participant ID and date completed) shows up when I click on the questionnaire under "Compose questionnaire" and when I test the questionnaire but not when I view the data on the SoSci webpage or download the data.

I've made no changes to the questionnaires on my end, but wonder if something happened on the back end as I see the format of the SoSci website has changed.

We have the project set up with multiple questionnaires (so the respondent would enter their participant ID at different types when completing the various questionnaires) and I only see that this first page (participant ID and date variables) is missing in some of them. This participant ID variable is very important as we're collecting longitudinal data.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Please check the LASTPAGE variable, if the first page was completed in these cases at all. Also check the QUSTNNR variable, if they did the proper questionnaire.

Thank you for your response! It appears that the order of our variables has changed in the "view data set" view, so we do in fact have the participant ID and date variables, but they appear in the middle of our dataset instead of at the beginning (which is the order we created for our questionnaire). I'm unsure why this changed but am relieved that we still have these variables. Thank you for your help!

It appears that the order of our variables has changed

We simplified the user interface of SoSci Survey recently, removing the manual sorting of sections - this affects the navigation and the variable order.

If you prefer the "old" order, simply go into the project settings -> Expert Settings and re-enable the manual sorting there (topmost checkbox).
