How can I download my old survey as a PDF or unencrypted excel?

Unfortunately I did not download my survey when it was active. Now it is in the archive (in my account where all my projects are stored). There I can download the old survey, but I cannot open it. How can I download it as a PDF or an unencrypted excel?

What you can download is an XML file that contains all the questions and questionnaires. To view this, create a new project, ind import the XML there, see Copying a Survey.

As soon as you have imported the questionnaire, you can print it as PDF in Compose Questionnaire, using the printer symbol on the upper right.
