Good morning, I have recently posted a sosci survey link on Amazon Turk (with a randomly generated code). I have downloaded the data collection file on sosci survey, but i cannot find the Amazon Turk workers' ID. Can you please help?

Yould you please go into details about how you integrated the randomly generated code into the link?

Yes, of course. Please find attached below some screenshots of how I integrated the code

This code is used to display a string-code within the questionnaire.

What you have is the string-code's numeric code (1, 2,...) in the variable RG01. Please use the table from the random generator ("Codes") to get the respective string-codes. Alternatively, you can use the CSV/Excel-download in SoSci Survey and select to get the string values instead the numeric codes.

Thank you very much for your reply! Actually, I am looking for a way to find the Amazon Turk workers' IDs in the dataset (not the random generated codes). I am planning to launch an official survey in few days, so I want to make sure I can link the responses in my data, to workers (or persons) who used Amazon Turk. For now, I have launched a test survey, I downloaded the data, but I cannot find the workers' ID. Please check the screenshot below (from Amazon Turk) so you can better understand my issue. Do you have any solution for that?   Thank you in advance

The information (ID) will have to be send from Amazon to the questionnaire. Does Amazon relay the ID to the link in any way? Can you, for example, use the ID as parameter in the link that you submit to Amazon?

If there should not be an automated way (I actually do not know, because I did not yet run a survey over MTurk), then you may have to ask for the ID in the questionnaire.

Amazon writes:

> You can do this by either by providing Workers with a unique completion code or collecting a Worker’s ID in the survey itself.

Seems like they won't send the ID automatically.

They recommend to provide random strings (what you do, the "survey code") and you can then match your list (from the random generator) against the list provided by MTurk.
